Starting around 1:30pm in the afternoon, this small group tour (maximum 11) includes afternoon tea and dinner. After being picked up at your hotel/accommodation, you head inland and up to the Atherton Tablelands via the Gilles Highway south of Cairns. You’ll visit the scenic Crater Lakes and the magnificent strangler fig trees with your experienced naturalist guide pointing out wildlife and the many exotic plants and trees. Afternoon Tea is at the beautiful Lake Barrine. Come dusk and you visit the platypus viewing area (we have a 90 per cent plus success rate) then have dinner at a local country restaurant on the Tablelands.
They venture up to the Atherton Tablelands where there is a much greater variety of wildlife such as possums, platypus, birds, snakes, frogs, kangaroos (big/small or rare tree kangaroos) and flying foxes. Their wonderful naturalist guides delight all with their enthusiasm.
