The Agile Project
The Agile project rescues and rehabilitates native wildlife in Cairns and surrounding areas. Founded in 2017, the team now consists of 160 volunteers who are under the guidance of Ecologist Shai Ager. The volunteers attend to incidents of injured or killed wildlife, and to check for viable joeys in any female wallabies. The volunteers also act as wildlife carers and rehabilitate the joeys for wild release. The Agile Project also rally to raise awareness for local wildlife and work alongside the Cairns Regional Council, local developers and the Department of Main Roads to implement strategies to reduce threats to wildlife.
