Jumrum Creek walk, Jumrum Creek Conservation Park
The Jumrum Creek walk is within the Jumrum Creek Conservation Park, which protects a small pocket of rainforest along Jumrum Creek within Kuranda village. The park encompasses rainforest along a section of Jumrum Creek before it flows into the nearby Barron River. Climbing palms, such as layer vine, feature in this rainforest, which is also home to a diversity of plant and animal species, including the critically endangered Kuranda treefrog.
This short one-way walk can be accessed from the small car parking bay on Barang Street or by following the paved pathway near Kuranda Visitor Information Centre in the village.
The walk descends to the crossing over Jumrum Creek and climbs gently up to Barron Falls Road. Visitors can retrace their steps or link onto the well sign-posted Kuranda village circuit walk, which includes the Jungle and River walks to the railway station and returns through the village to complete the circuit.
