Why not turn your holiday to Tropical North Queensland into an “epic road trip”? If along the way you feel peckish, stop at some of the farmers markets or roadside fruit stalls and savour gorgeous local tropical fruits. Stay for a night at one of Australia’s amazing resorts or van parks. You can get there via four main routes that lead you to this unique region: being the Great Inland Way, Pacific Coast Way, Matilda Way and Savannah Way.
The Great Inland Way starts in Sydney, New South Wales, and runs all the way to Cooktown, covering almost 2700km. It winds past rolling farmland, historic gold rush towns, dusty country pubs and lush rainforest before meeting the Coral Sea. Covering nearly the entire Queensland coast, the Pacific Coast Way links the Gold Coast to Cairns. It is an 1870km journey past beautiful pristine beaches and through an array of National parks with spectacular scenic lookouts, making it a holiday along the way, to your final destination.
