Explore the Rainforest Discovery Zone at Red Peak and discover the amazing sweeping panoramic views from The Edge Lookout at Barron Falls. Discover the World's Oldest Rainforest Story, an exciting collaboration between Buda:dji, the Djabugay people and Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Hear the dreamtime stories of the Djabuganydji bama, the Traditional Custodians of this land, in the multilingual Skyrail Audio Guide App. Enhance your experience with in-gondola commentary and more. Exploring the ancient rainforest on a one-way Skyrail experience takes approximately 90 minutes. For a return (round-trip) experience allow 2.5 hours. Located 15 minutes from Cairns city and 50 minutes from Port Douglas. Skyrail is accessible for people of all ages and abilities. With some pre-planned maintenance dates, a list can be found on the official Skyrail website. Advance bookings essential.
Kuranda to Barron Falls Loop Experience
This is a new and unique experience offering! The Kuranda to Barron Falls Loop Experience will be available between August 19th to October 25th, 2026. We're opening 5 days per week, from Wednesday to Sunday (closed on Monday's and Tuesday's), with boarding between 10:00am and 3:30pm. Please allow approximately 1 hour, including time spent at Barron Falls, where you will be able to enjoy the following during your Skyrail experience: 📱 Skyrail Audio Guide App in 5 languages 🤠 Ranger Guided Tours 🏞️ The Edge Lookout 🏛️ Historical Precinct 🏫 Rainforest Interpretation Centre 🚂 Packages with Kuranda Scenic Railway 🚌 Shuttle bus from Smithfield to Kuranda Terminals Tour prices and packages, departure times and connections with the shuttle bus and other experiences or attractions will be offered during the booking process on our official website or speak with our friendly Reservations Team for more information.
