Fitzroy Island Resort
Fitzroy Island is a tropical paradise of rainforest and coral beaches within the calm sheltered waters of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Australia, located only 29 kilometres off Cairns.
Just 45 minutes by the Flyer, Fitzroy Island Resort offers contemporary accommodation including Island Suites, Resort Studios, Beach Cabins, Self-contained Bungalows plus a campground. The resort facilities include a beachfront restaurant, a large pool with a swim-up bar, FISH sports hub, movies, Foxy’s bar, a general store and the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre.
There are plenty of activities for the whole family at Fitzroy Island including sea kayaking, snorkelling the fringing coral reefs, glass-bottom boat tours, walking trails, paddle boarding, fish feeding and snorkel safaris, as well as free daily activities.
Camping is also available. Fitzroy Flyer transfers to and from Fitzroy Island depart daily and tickets can be pre-booked from Fitzroy Island Resort.

Penthouse
The Penthouse boasts four bedrooms and two bathrooms, this apartment is truly the jewel in the crown of Fitzroy Island Resorts accommodation. The Penthouse features, spacious living, dining, and kitchen. The living area has access to the large outdoor balcony with magnificent views over Welcome Bay. Luxurious master bedroom with King Size Bed integrated marble bathroom with a two person spa bath and balcony access. Second bedroom with King Bed or Twin Bed Configuration. Third and fourth bedroom, Queen Beds. Full kitchen, with dishwasher and laundry. Located on the third-floor with lift access. Sleeps eight guests. Available as a three or four bedroom option.
Reef View Villa
Indulge yourself to a private island escape in our exclusive, adults-only Reef View Villa, offering uninterrupted ocean views and premium comfort. Perfectly positioned on the shores of Fitzroy Island, this beautifully renovated two-bedroom villa combines luxury with island charm. Relax on the spacious deck with sun loungers and a swing chair or unwind inside the lounge area—both designed to showcase stunning views across the Great Barrier Reef. Inside, you'll find two stylish Queen bedrooms (each with LCD TVs), a modern bathroom with a walk-in shower, and thoughtful extras like a coffee pod machine, fruit basket on arrival, and laundry facilities.
Welcome Bay Suite
Located on the top floor, and boasting ocean views plus a large balcony these Suites are luxurious, spacious and have a separate bedroom. The Welcome Bay Suites have a generous balcony with ocean views. The apartment has a guest laundry, iron and ironing board, tea and coffee facilities. Air-conditioned with ceiling fans, in both rooms, Queen size bed, plasma television, lounge and dining area, en-suite black marble tiled bathroom with shower. Sleeps up to four (extra guests sleep on a sofa bed, or can accommodate one roll away).
Beach Cabin
On the beach location with two bedrooms (one queen and two singles beds), generous balcony and beautiful views across Welcome Bay and the Coral Sea, plasma television, tea and coffee facilities. All cabins feature a black marble ensuite. Walk directly from the front balcony onto the Coral Beach. Sleeps up to four guests.
Island Suite
These luxuriously appointed 71 square metre one-bedroom suites include a generous balcony, tea and coffee facilities, queen size bed, plasma television, lounge and dining area plus ensuite black marble tiled bathroom. Sleeps up to four guests (extra two persons can sleep on a sofa bed).
2 Bedroom Apartment
Ideal for families or small groups, our Two Bedroom Suites combine an adjoining Island Suite and Resort Studio Twin room, connected by a common breezeway. The main suite features a separate bedroom with a Queen bed, a generous living and dining area, an ensuite bathroom, and a private balcony, and the adjoining studio offers two Twin beds and a second bathroom. Located on both the ground and second levels of the resort, these suites offer lift access and the use of shared guest laundry facilities. Rooms are lightly serviced every third day.
Studio
Luxury appointed air-conditioned rooms, plasma television, ensuite black marble tiled bathroom, tea and coffee facilities, small fridge. Choice of King bed or two single beds. Sleeps two guests.
Camp Ground
The Council Campground is located, next to the beach; only a five minutes stroll from the Jetty and is managed by the Fitzroy Island Resort. It has approximately 20 tent sites, a very modern and stylish shower block, beachfront barbecues and pergola cover for eating areas. Campers need to supply their own equipment. Campgrounds: Fitzroy Island Resort manages the campgrounds on behalf of the Cairns Regional Council. Each tent can only be a maximum of three metres by three metres with two adults and two children per site. Consumption of alcohol, the use of generators and the lighting of fires is not permitted in the campgrounds. They ask that all noise ceases at 10pm each night. Prices: from AUD37 per tent per night for up to four people.
